The position of the Government's Head Statistician is being advertised. 

The Samoa Public Commission is currently advertising the position of the Chief Executive Officer of the Samoa Bureau of Statistics (S.B.S.)

Interested applicants have until Wednesday, 9 December to declare their interest with an application. 

The position is on a contractual basis with a starting salary of $119,033 to $123,361.

The incumbent Chief of the S.B.S. is Ali’imuamua Malaefono Ta’aloga. 

She was appointed and endorsed by Cabinet in January 2018 after serving more than 30 years in the statistical service.

She succeeded one of Samoa’s longest-serving C.E.O.s, Muagututi’a Sefuiva Reupena.  

Ali’imuamua was the A.C.E.O. of Census, Surveys and Demography Statistics Division. 

She is from the village of Lalomanu, Saanapu, Moataa and Safotu.  

Ali’imuamua holds a Master’s Degree in Demography from the Australian National University, Postgraduate Diploma in Population Studies and B.A. in Economics and Administration from the University of the South Pacific. 

She is a graduate of Samoa College. 

Highlights of her career include, successfully conducting and analysing of four Population and Housing Censuses for S.B.S. in 2001, 2006, 2011, 2016.
