Woman charged for killing partner in bed
A woman in her 30s in Sydney reportedly turned herself into Police after allegedly killing her partner of ten years with an axe while in bed watching a movie.
Naea Moli is accused of stabbing Geo Sione, 35, several times at their St. Marys home on Sunday afternoon.
Her demeanor was described as “calm” when she approached the station, the native Police said.
The Police was sent to a townhouse on Sydney Road where they witnessed a “horrific” scene. Sione was found with multiple extreme wounds to the head.
Following the attack, C.C.T.V. obtained by ABC News showed that Moli was seen puffing on a smoke before jumping into a taxi. Sydney Police say she arrived at the Police Station shortly after.
Detective Inspector, Jason Pietruszka, confirmed Moli had been charged with murder.
"She was calm and was matter-of-fact about what had occurred," Detective Inspector Jason Pietruska told reporters on Monday.
"She spoke with police freely, she was lucid and she provided the information. We responded accordingly."
Detective Inspector Pietruszka confirmed that the pair had a history with Police.
The pair had moved to Australia not too long ago from New Zealand to seek better opportunities for themselves.
Last year, the deceased, Sione, was charged for assaulting Moli.
And last month, an apprehended violence order was taken out by Sione against Moli.
She appeared at Penrith Local Court on Monday and was denied bail.
Newshub reported that Sione’s mother, Helen Sione who is in New Zealand, had been trying to get her son out of the “abusive” relationship for a while.
“No one deserves that. What comes to my mind is the pain, if there was any pain involved,” she said.
“He was such a humble guy, he didn’t deserve to die like that.”
