Warrant of arrest for woman accused of forgery

The Supreme Court has issued a warrant of arrest for a woman who has been charged for allegedly forging a Judge’s signature in connection to adoption papers.

The warrant of arrest was issued by the Court for the accused Vinetta Lagoto Lapana for failing to appear in the Supreme Court last month.

She is facing charges of forgery and obtained by deception in relation to allegations of making a false document, namely an order of adoption for two different people.

It is alleged that she obtained $2,600 in the cause of processing the application for the order for one of the adoption papers.

She allegedly forged the signature of District Court Judge, Talasa Atoa Saaga.

The former legal assistant for a private law firm is from the village of Tapueleele Savai'i and Vailima.
