When someone becomes a dictator

Dear Editor,

Re: Dictatorship in Samoa

Here is the definition(s) of a dictator according to the dictionary.

1. a person exercising absolute power, especially a ruler who has absolute, unrestricted control in a government without hereditary succession.

2.(in ancient Rome) a person invested with supreme authority during a crisis, the regular magistracy being subordinated to him until the crisis was met.

3. a person who authoritatively prescribes conduct, usage, etc.: a dictator of fashion.

4. a person who dictates, as to a secretary.

These definitions fits the P.M. and his party. It is one party rule but the party executes what the P.M wants. Each member of his party will support any new proposed bill/law due to fear of the P.M.

When a government supports its leader without challenges due to fear, it becomes a Dictatorship Government.

Tuilaepa can publicly make claims He is not a leading with dictatorship approach. But the end results of his leadership since he became the Prime Minister are based solely on his own will by buying votes for those who will keep him in power. He will not support anybody with a different view nor support anybody that will challenge his intellectual or lack there of.

When a leader of a country calls his detractors by names without consequences, he in fact has become a Dictator.
