Players and athletes competing in the Digicel Street Hustle Basketball Tournament took part in a clinic on Thursday to go over the rules of the sport.

Training was held at the St. Joseph’s campus in Alafua and led by Central Basketball Association (C.B.A.) Board member, Dave Ah Kuoi.

The tournament tips off Friday, 28 August at Malaefatu and will continue through December.

Games will be held at Malaefatu Playspace courts for the first three weeks.

C.B.A. President, Jason Joseph, said the schedule has been modelled after Rugby Sevens. Five legs comprise the tournament.

“We’re borrowing Rugby 7s style scheduling,” Joseph said.

Venues will change every three weeks.

The first leg will be played at Malaefatu.

The second leg will be played at U.S.P. starting September 18 and 19.

The third leg will take place at N.U.S. gym on Saturday, 10 October.

Leg 4 of the tournament, in November, was confirmed for Pesega gym but because the gym does not allow the type of branding required by Digicel, the games will be played at St. Joseph’s in Alafua or Marist in Lotopa.

The final leg will go back to Malaefatu on 4 and 5 December.
