The Aana Chiefs and five other teams including the Marist have been given the greenlight to play friendly matches at the ACP Marist Stadium Lotopa on Saturday, in the lead-up to next week’s Vodafone National Sevens Series kickoff.

The other teams are Falefa, Malie, Lepea, Taufusi and Marist according to Mohammad Lemalu Lefaoseu Nonu John Lemisio, who is the tournament coordinator for the Faleata Rugby Union.

"It’s just a scrummage between us and Aana. All part of preparations for the upcoming Sevens Series stage by the Samoa Rugby Union," he said.

"Yes, so it's Aana Chiefs, Falefa, Malie, Lepea, Taufusi and Marist that will be involved in this competition on Saturday. We also have the U-10, U-13, U-15, and U-16 with SSAB Moamoa at 8:30am.

It is understood approval for the teams to use the ACP Marist Stadium Lotopa on Saturday was granted by the Marist President Faimalomatumua Mathew Lemisio.

The teams involved in these clashes on Saturday are also going to Savai’i for the first leg of the Vodafone National seven series at the Don Bosco College Salelologa and Prince Edward Park in Iva.

The Faleata Rugby Union will also host an award night to honor the hard work and service of the Faleata rugby union referees during their Vailima World Sevens series for the past four weeks.

All the six teams are now confirmed for their friendly games this Saturday in preparation for the upcoming S.R.U. Sevens Series next week.
