Focus on women during COVID-19 planning and response: non-profit

An international poverty focused non-profit is calling on Pacific nations to research the impacts a COVID-19 outbreak in their countries would have on women, girls and other vulnerable minorities and use their findings wisely in a report released last month.

In its Pacific Rapid Gender Assessment, CARE reports that while infection rates are low in the region, widespread outbreaks in the region will disproportionately affect women and girls when it comes to their education, health, livelihood and safety.
