Man accused of attack on three Chinese on bail

A man who allegedly attacked three Chinese nationals during a robbery at Salelologa Savai’i shop has been granted bail. 

Andrew, who is also known as Puligi Patolo Aita, appeared in the Supreme Court this week for mention. 

He is facing charges of aggravated robbery, two counts of causing injury, armed with dangerous weapon, intentional damage and theft. 

Appearing before Justice Leiataualesa Daryl Clarke, Aita was released on bail for the accused to reappear in Court next week.

The male of Safotu has also been ordered to refrain from setting foot in Salelologa where the alleged offending took place. 

His matter has been adjourned without plea for Police to finalise charges against him. 

Deputy Police Commissioner, Papali’i Monalisa Keti confirmed, in response to queries from the Samoa Observer, that the accused was apprehended in February over an alleged attack on three Chinese nationals.
