The Catholic Church's Jubilee of Mercy youth group have returned to Upolu after a successful tour of Savai'i.

Catholic priest Fr Siolo Tevaga confirms that many other members of their youth joined the cause after the seminars that they ran at all the parishes on the big island.

"The Jubilee of Mercy youth have returned and we are happy to say that this is a successful trip, we have more than 20 new members after our visit to Savai'i," he said.

Fr Siolo said the Catholic Church's Archbishop Alapati Lui Mataeliga joined the youth to travel to Savai'i but returned on Sunday to prepare for his church service.

"The Archbishop was also a part of this program, the purpose of this trip is to encourage the youth to be a part of something and use their youth for important callings, not only that but to prepare them for the 5th World Apostolic Congress on Mercy conference this year," he added.

The Jubilee of Mercy youth consists of different youth members from different Catholic parishes.

"They were divided into three groups when we were in Savaii, the first group went to Palauli up to Falealupo, second one which I was with, we started from Samalaeulu up to Fusi Safotulafai, and the last group is from Mauga up to Sataua," he said.

The three groups started their seminars on Thursday and finished it this morning before heading back to Upolu.

"We will be conducting Seminars in Upolu as well, we will start going out to parishes this coming Thursday till Sunday, our doors are always open for any Catholic youths wanting to join our cause," he added.
