Holiday roadside assistance launched

Local business, T&T Motors, has introduced a new 24/7 roadside assistance service to serve Samoa this holiday season.

General Manager, Vaigalepa Tuli Taogaga, said that the new service is designed for common car problems encountered while on the road. The service is available by contacting T&T Motor's helpline whenever breakdowns happen.

In preparation for a busy Christmas season, T&T Motors' Manager says they have prepared 3 vehicles and a tow truck to be on call when needed.

Customers should contact 7768596 or 7229887 for 24/7 roadside assistance that includes flat tires, keys locked inside cars, and flat batteries.

There will be a $30 assistance fee within the town area, and additional costs for other problems.

“Our target is to get the boys out to fix your problem and get your car going, and to do what we can to get you on your way. We can sort out pricing after," Mr, Taogaga said.

Mr. Taogaga told the Samoa Observer that he wanted to start this roadside service shortly after coming back from Auckland to take over his family business in 2007.

“I thought that Samoa needed more of this sort of service. We drove past old people and poor people and I see them and felt sorry for them doing their car maintenance on their own. It took them so long to have someone help them.” he said.

He says that he wanted to start up a service to match New Zealand's roadside assist: AA.

“We want to help our people out,” Vaigalepa said.

While this mobile assistance was only introduced two weeks ago, Mr. Taogaga told the Samoa Observer that T & T Motors has already had positive feedback.

“Our customers have encouraged us to provide this service all the time. Our phone lines are ringing all the time,” he said.

"We know alcohol is involved during this time, and we understand that people are enjoying themselves. We just want to let them do so responsibly and guide them through their car problems. We advise every one of them to drive safely and be careful.

Mr. Taogaga says that he wishes Samoa a happy festive season, and that T&T motors will be there throughout the holidays to assist this festive season.
