While other sports club have already begun to relax for the end-of-season period the, Moamoa Roosters, are not allowing themselves to become complacent ahead of a new tournament early next year.

The team's Rugby Head Coach, Gustav Slade, said in an interview that fitness training will continue apace over the holiday period.

"Especially with the holiday breaks, its better to keep their fitness so that it is easier for them to return next month," said.

The club has had a tournament within their club to ensure that players' competitive instincts remain sharp over the festive season.

"So we have been having a tournament for the last four weeks now, with three teams among the players," he said.

"We are keeping our young players here because others in are training squad of Samoa A and global, still trying to keep the fitness of these boys so that they go to Samoa Rugby Union with their fitness intact.

"Just a matter of keeping the boys in high spirit and the level of fitness."

Confidence in the team's fitness within the Roosters  has also been boosted with the return of Afa Lesa and and Manager, James Ah Wai who will be joining them soon to help the boys, Slade said.

The club's main sponsor is Samoa Stationery and Books with which they have an association dating back 10 years.

Slade said it has been a privilege for the club to be sponsored by S.S.A.B. as it has played a great part in gathering the youth of Moamoa.

"We just want to keep the youth of Moamoa in the sport and that sort of thing, and just trying to keep the boys happy," he said.

Other sports the club is involved in is, soccer, hockey and tag rugby.
