“Our program basically is lifestyle medicine,” says Dr. Walter.

In his article that was recently published in Samoa observer’s weekend’s edition of newspaper, he was quite blunt and vague in not inserting certain details.

He enlightened to the Samoa observer concerning the three gentlemen doctors that came, included Dr. Paul Wood whom is the secretary of the South Pacific Society for Lifestyle Medicine that had just been set up.

Even as well as the company by one of our local doctor, Dr. Paul Tofilau who is practicing in Brisbane, Australia.

Together with them was the American physician, Dr. Wayne Dysinger, who was the past president of the American Society of Lifestyle Medicine.

They were high powered people came to meet and talk with the General Director of Health of Samoa and also with all the other doctors.

Dr. Walter again made mention of the public conference that was conducted by these highly qualified doctors the Feiloa’i ma uso hall and was attended by quite a few people.

Further onwards he expresses of how the whole point is to inform, educate through seminars and so forth so that it is spreading all over the world.

“You really don’t need to take drugs all the time because many of the diseases are simply related to lifestyle,” he says.

Simply if an individual decides to stop smoking, drinking too much alcohol, follows a good diet and exercises enough, as well as being able to take control of the stresses in one’s life, most definitely all will be alright and healthy in terms of all the aspects of life. But body being physically fit to resist diseases especially.

“Maybe half of all our medical conditions are related to lifestyle problems, so this is where we are,” he says.

This lifestyle medicinal treatment program has been promoted by Dr. Walter and his team over at METI’s for the last seven years and it is catching on.

Dr. Walter was proud in stating the praiseful remarks that were made by these gentlemen who visited Samoa towards METI for the unique in the world kind of work that they have and are conducting through their Whole Foods Plant Based (WFPB) diet of a project.

The project has quickly gone out into specifically four villages where METI has proven that people could reverse their diabetes in a matter of a few weeks.

The METI’s project is thoroughly concluded through four villages within Samoa alone as 75 percent of old people with diabetes, heart disease, chronic arthritis and high blood pressure reversed these conditions by simply following the whole food plan based (WFPB) diet.

Interestingly, Tufue Tataufaiga of Saipipi village who is a living testimony of the successful outcome of this project came to one of the villages they held their project at, which were the two villages of Vaiafai and Samalaeulu.

“She came to visit a friend or family somewhere close by and she listened by following the diet,” says Dr. Walter.

This 55 year old mother is one of the examples of what is happening in Samoa.

“People can believe it,” he says.

People have been told so many years that once you have been diagnosed with diabetes, it is for life. However, Dr. Walter exclaims saying, “But this is not true.”

He positively said that if one follows the diet as it is a matter of meat, you can surely reverse diabetes as well as any other related disease as such.
