Louise Main is the new Assistant District Governor for Rotary District 9920, South Pacific.

At the annual Rotary changeover dinner event, the outgoing President for the Rotary Club of Apia, Savave Sapolu, congratulated Ms. Main on her tireless work for the Club and praised her decision to take up the mantle of Assistant Governor for their district.

Past President of the Club, Toleafoa Douglas Creevey, who was also the last member of the Apia Club to have occupied the role of Assistant District Governor for District 9920, was given the honour of presenting Ms Main with her Assistant District Governor Pin.

According to a statement, Ms Main thanked her husband, David Main, for his continued support of her and Apia Rotary during her years of service.

“I’m really happy and honoured to be the Assistant District Governor for District 9920 this year,” said Ms Main.

“I know it’s a lot of work but I felt ready to take it on board after I had finished my tenure as President in 2017-2018, James (Arp) and Douglas have done it, so I believe I can do it too.”

Club Treasurer, Khosrow Moghbelpour was also recognised in an “extra special” Paul Harris Fellow Recognition presentation for his service as “eternal” Treasurer for Apia Rotary.

According to the statement, Savave said the special edition sapphire Paul Harris Fellow pin was being presented to Mr Moghbelpour because of his 40 plus years of service to Rotary and he is identified as someone who exemplifies Rotary’s principle of “service above self”.
