Samoa’s swimming team bagged a total of nine medals over the past two nights of competition, a record for the country in the Pacific Games.

And it doesn’t end there as the team looks to add another two medals in tonight’s final at the Aquatic Center in Faleata.

Seven of the athletes have qualified for the final from this morning’s preliminary rounds.

Among the seven, for the men, are Brandon Schuster, who will take on the 200 meter freestyle, Kokoro Frost for the 100 meter backstroke and Vernon Retzall for the 50 meter breaststroke.

The women include Andrea Schuster and Kaiya Brown for the 200 meter freestyle; and the top 2 seed for the 100 meter backstroke, Lusheval Stickland and Lauren Sale.

The team will also participate in the men’s and women’s 4x100 meter freestyle relay.

The final begins at 6pm.
