Hundreds gathered at Taumeasina Island Resort to enjoy a night of entertainment at the Seki Fest on Friday night, ahead of the official celebration of Samoa's 57th Independence Day.

The group of performers comprising of Adina Thembi Ndamse, Poetik, Victor J Sefo, Jay Emz, Wayno, Ezy, DJ Kayoz, DJ 651, Momeachokes and Den Den, Jae T, J King, and DJ Peter Gunz featured in the event.

The hosts on the night were Poloma Iosefa (Momeachokes) and Galu Dennis Malala (Den Den).

Adina performed a variety of songs including her most famous hit song "Killing me softly", which got the crowd on their feet and singing along.

The event was organised by Niko Misa and Peter Papalii, better known by his stage name as Peter Gunz, to bring home international-based Samoan artists.

Jamie Lefao, who was among the crowd, said the concert was a great opportunity to celebrate Samoa's Independence before the actual celebration.

"Samoa hardly has concerts, which is why we absolutely loved this initiative, it lets us the youth, but also everyone of all ages, to come down and enjoy a variety of music, drink a beer, relax and have a great time.

"I am a big fan of Adina, she is one of my favourite singers - her song 'Killing me softly' is a very catchy song that has great meaning to those of broken hearts and have gone through bad relationships."

The sponsors of the event included, Digicel, Taumeasina Island Resort, TV3 Samoa, Dawg Professional Audio, Radio Polynesia Ltd.

Leading up to the event was various visits by the performers to schools like Church College and Middle School Pesega, Vaimauga College, Leifiifi College and also the National University of Samoa with the aim of giving back to the community by encouraging the youths to pursue music in the future.
