Grateful for family
Meet Savelio Fiāmate from Vaitele-Uta.
“The most important thing in the world is family and love,” he told the Village Voice.
Savelio works at Samoa Breweries Limited and the money he earns from his salary contributes a lot to his family from week to week.
“When I finished school at Chanel College a few years ago, I started looking for a job,” he said.
“As I’ve mentioned before, the money I’ve earned really helps a lot to my family.
“I know these days, it is very hard to live, if you don’t have a job.
“Not only that, you don’t know where to turn to, to get money when family fa’alavelave comes. But having a job to rely on, really helps.
“I mean no matter how much I contribute at least I have something to give back to my parents.
Savelio believes that the road to success is not easy to achieve.
“But with hard work, drive and passion, it’s possible,” he said.
“I thank God for the job, because to be honest I don’t want to stay home and do nothing.
“I want to help my family in whatever way I can.
As to the future?
“Right now, I don’t have any plans but to continue to help my family,” Savelio said.
Savelio understands why we should prioritise our family.
“I believe that’s where my blessings come from – by putting my family first.
“We all know that no matter what happens in life or what struggles we’re going through, it’s imperative to never lose connections with our family especially our parents.
“That’s why we need to take care of them first for they are a gift that we’re given at birth, and nothing should ever come before the relationships that we have with our family.
He thanked his parents.
“Everything I have done thus far in my life, I can proudly say that my family has been there every step of the way.
“They have done everything possible to raise me to be the best individual I can be and I’m so lucky to have them in my life.”
