The next generation of Samoan netball talent was on display today at L.D.S. Pesega College fields, as 14 colleges took part in the B.S.L. "Fizz Free" Secondary School Netball Champ of Champs at Pesega College today across Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisons.

St Mary's College, L.D.S. Pesega College, Samoa College, Amoa College, Anoama'a College, Vaiola College, Lefaga College, Safata College, Faleata College, Wesley College, Alofiotaoa College, Aleipata College, Chanel College and Aana 2 College all took part in the one-day tournament, which was played in 32 degree heat.

Netball Samoa CEO Rosemarie Esera spoke to the participants afterwards about the national representative opportunities available to them, including the 2021 World Youth Cup, for which everyone was invited to trial in September.

"I am really impressed with the talent," she said.

"You are the ones that are going to be able to put your hands up."

She also thanked all the parents, teachers, supporters and volunteers for making the day possible.

The Junior final was won 10-2 by St Mary's who blew L.D.S. Pesega away in the second half after the sides went into the break at 2-2.

Moselle Meredith of St Mary's was named MVP of the Junior tournament.

St Mary's triumphed in the Intermediate division as well with a 7-5 win over Vaiola from Savai'i, who had their chances but could not convert them efficiently enough.

Epenesa Tufuga of St Mary's was named MVP of the Intermediate tournament.

The senior tournament was won by the home team L.D.S. Pesega, 11-8 over Vaiola.

MVP Tyra Joseph-Schmidt's shooting for the hosts was outstanding in the win.
