Bluesky kick starts Cyclone relief drive
The Bluesky Pacific Group has started an initiative to lend a helping hand to the people of Fiji, left devastated by Cyclone Winston.
The staff in Samoa, American Samoa, New Zealand and the Cook Islands are all coming together to make donations in kind in the form of clothing, non-perishable food items, books and other materials which can be used by the children and families living in the affected areas.
Bluesky’s Group Chief Commercial Officer, Sanjeewa Perera, said the people of Fiji need help.
“Bluesky is saddened by the damage caused to our neighbours in Fiji who have lost their livelihoods in the recent cyclone,” he said.
“We are committed to supporting our neighbours and have been in contact with our counterparts in Fiji to provide support as necessary to assist in the rebuilding of the telecommunications infrastructure.
“In addition to our recent promotion to drop the calling rates for our Fijian brothers and sisters currently in Samoa and away from their families, we would also like to share the efforts of many who are coming together to support rebuild Fiji.”
The collection points for those who wish to donate items in Samoa are Bluesky HQ Maluafou, Bluesky Store Matafele, Bluesky Eveni Kiosk, Bluesky Farmer Joe Kiosk and Bluesky Store at the Salelologa Market in Savaii.
Bluesky also urges other communities in Samoa to come together to support our neighbours as this could have been any one of our countries as well.
