Clinton trumped in elections

Everyone anxiously and excitedly gathered around the television screen at the American Embassy last week to witness history being made. And so it came to be.

But many were disappointed.

As Trump garnered more electoral votes, spectators weighed in on Trump’s consistent lead so late in the election.

Samoan resident, Tuatagaloa Joe Annandale said, “I’m surprised because I’ve just come back from American Samoa, and it’s all about the election over there.

Certainly this wasn’t predicted, the prediction was that Clinton would win.  I’m interested because America is a world power and the biggest economy in the world and what happens over there, will affect us eventually.”

American citizen Benjamin Harding weighed in, “It was definitely a surprise given that a lot of the polls had Hillary Clinton ahead. It’s looking likely that Trump will win and that’s definitely a surprise.

Marco Kappenberger was happy to sit on the fence saying “I’m disappointed about Trump’s environmental views, but both of them have qualities that I like very much.”

The American Embassy hosted a mock polling amongst attendees in which Clinton came out on top by a far greater margin in contrast to the real election, which had Trump winning in key battleground states like Florida.
