Moala motivated by love for his parents
No matter what happens, remember your parents. They are the ones who raised and brought you into this world.
For Moala Lupao’o from the village of Falelauniu and Moamoa, that is his priority.
Moala is a father to two children but despite the fact that this 22-year-old has his own family, he still makes time for his parents.
The Village Voice caught up with him when he was on his way back from his parents’ house at Falelauniu.
“I was on my break from work and I thought of dropping by at my parents’ house to give them some money,” he said.
“You know, just to help out with what they need; food and all that.
“I may be staying with my own family now; having kids of my own but my parents will always come first in everything.
“Because to me, your wife and kids will always be there but you never know with your parents right? Life is short.
“That is why I came over to see them and check on how they were.
Moala works at a small cleaning business at Alafua and although he doesn’t make much, he always shares his earnings with his parents.
Then he saves the rest for his family.
“This is life, you either work or you get nothing.
“The work I do now, only happens every month so most of the time I just stay home and help out my wife.
“That is why at the meantime I work and at the same time, try my best to find the time to apply for a steady job.
“I need to work everyday, I need to have a job that I can rely on every single day, knowing that I will always have money to feed my parents as well as my children.
“I’m good with cleaning lands and environments, this is the kind of work I love and that’s okay with me.
“Because we need more people to care and keep our environments clean.
“I need a steady job one day to survive in a world that is really expensive.”
