What needs to be done to improve Samoa
Re: Healthy Pacific Islands move
Great work here but more systems are required to keep tourists from contracting serious stomach bugs and dengue fever.
Two of my cousins from Australia contracted Dengue and 8 had serious vomiting and high temperatures for at least 4-6 days when returning back to NZ.
The government needs to clean the drains and bug spray.
I was in Hawaii recently and saw only one mosquito in seven days.
Tourists will go to other destinations where they aren’t violently ill especially with their kids.
You need to step up on health and safety or suffer the consequences.
Using dirty water for ice cream scoops and knives to cut raw meat then fruit for platters is not good enough.
Ice is another problem. All caterers should have hygienic water filtration systems on display with certification along with staff training certificates on cleanliness practices and germ prevention.
Also, clean up the city buildings now like a dusty forgotten ghost town. Artists should paint the city buildings to make it welcoming.
Churches should also help.
Get rid of the begging kids it’s distressing to see and annoying. How many cotton buds do you seriously need?
Dogs should be behind fences or tied up who’s picking up their faeces that people are stepping on?
People should be fined for littering.
More rubbish bins.
Lalomanu beach was covered in rubbish left by dirty lazy people speaking in Samoan.
Look after the beach and sea creatures -global warming is real.
People have lost faith. It comes from the top-Government!! Samoans need help to teach them the skills for monetary stability and happiness.
See the sadness and desperation in their eyes. Stop the fa’alavelave, crazy church donations and Matai corruption crippling the poor families trying to survive. So sad.
