Namulauulu names his 23 squad for Fiji
Namulauulu Alama Ieremia has revealed his 23 players who will go to war with the Flying Fijians in Suva tomorrow.
And there has been a notably different look for the Manu Samoa team as opposed to the team which drew with Georgia last week.
The game on Saturday will be an opening game for our boys in blue for the Pacific Nation Cup.
Earlier this week, Namulauulu told the Samoa Observer that he was looking at selecting a vastly more experienced team for the upcoming game.
This is because Fiji is a tougher opponent, said Namulauulu.
“Fiji is a different opposition and just by looking at their team, they have gone for the experience,” Namulauulu told the Samoa Observer yesterday before the Manu departed for Fiji.
“Like I said before, I was not happy with the result of the game and we’ve reviewed the mistakes and our shortcomings from the game on Saturday.
“Our main focus now is to improve those areas. We let our set piece down and our ball carry, line outs and scrums and possessions. We didn’t have many phases of attack, and we can’t blame the weather.
“So getting our set pieces right is what we are focusing on at the moment in our preparations for our two games coming up. These are very important and tough games ahead of us and we are giving it our all preparing for these games.”
Said Namulauulu, the final selection of the squad to play against Fiji was made basically on the experiences of the players.
Moreover, he also uttered that he had rewarded some of the impressive players from the game with Georgia, who have forced their way through the final selection through their form.
