The process that needs to happen

Dear Editor,

Re: Nurses Association questions Police charges

What in the world just happened here?

One baby died and they went ahead and injected the second child? This is insane. The nurse should’ve never injected the other child.

They needed to stop and remove all the vaccines.

Maybe they’re expired or inject the wrong medication. Also the amount of vaccine they inject may be too much for the kids weight and age.

The nurse is the employee of the hospital or the clinic.

The family with the kids should hire a lawyer and sue the hospital for negligence. They are responsible for the people’s safety.

They should also have protocols in place for the nurses to follow when checking vaccines. There is no excuse for the nurse for not checking the vaccine.

Mixing any vaccine should be done by the pharmacist not the nurse. Vaccines are ready to be given when the nurse get it.

Both the hospital and the nurse shared responsibility of this incident.

Please have safety methods in place so all employees can follow and have some common sense too.

I work in the hospital in U.S. and we have two ways of checking if we have the right patient before we operate, perform any procedure or inject any medication or vaccines.

This is to prevent operating on the wrong person. Administering wrong medication to a patient and the overall care for the patient.

One is having the patient say who they are by names as we match it to the wrist band.

Second is verifying the medical record number in the system if this is the patient. It may sound redundant but we rather have it that way and prevent these types of incidents.

Good luck with the investigation.

God be with these families as they mourn the lost of their precious babies.
