A special service was held at the Methodist Church yesterday to celebrate the ordination of five pastors and four elders of the church who have become pensioners.

The service also ended the church’s Annual Conference this year. It was well attended by hundreds of church members and leaders from overseas and Samoa.

The five ordained pastors are now allowed to administer marriages, funerals and Holy Communion within the church.

President of the church, Rev. Elder Apineru Lafai led the service.

One of the ordained Rev. Uaine Fuimaono from Sapunaoa Falealili thanked God for His guidance.

“I want to thank the church, elders, church members, families and friends for their continuous prayers for us,” he said.

“The truth is, without God we are nothing.

“We have been chosen to serve and nothing else but to rely on God to lead and guide us in everything and we have to do, is to wait on him with a humble heart and prayers.

Rev. Fa’afiu Lameta from Falealili and Aele said “it was not an easy journey.”

“But we made it because of God’s faithfulness in our lives,” he said.
