Free primary education

Re: Samoa should have free education

Newsflash. There has been free primary and secondary school education in Samoa for least the last five years.

It was first provided by NZ Aid and then when NZ Aid fee-paying programme ran out after their five year mandate, the Samoan government took over the payment of fees for every student at primary and secondary level at government schools up until the present day.

The main moan now is the cost of stationary and uniforms but the government does not control the cost of those things. The private sector does.
