The “Super Samoan”, Mark Hunt, is in the country with his family for the Holidays.
It is the first time the 41-year-old has come back after he left for New Zealand when he was four.
In an interview with Samoa Observer, Hunt said he doesn’t remember much of his time in Samoa back then.
However, he has been enjoying his time with his family here in Samoa.
“It’s been good and relaxing,” he said.
Asked about why he decided to come back after more than forty years, Hunt said he wanted to be in Samoa to see Lupesoliai Joseph Parker’s fight.
“I actually thought that Joseph Parker was fighting here around this time, but I got the dates all mixed up,” he said.
“I thought he was fighting on the 25th so I thought why not come here to watch him fight and enjoy a little holiday with my family.
“I’ve watched some of Parker’s fight back in New Zealand but was hoping to witness his fight here in the island. But I am happy to be here with my family as well at this time of the year.”
While in Samoa, he has been updating his fans about his Samoan experience since he arrived and this was because “it helps the people that follow me to come along with me on my journey.”
“I want them to see what Samoa has to offer, I am a Kiwi but I am also proud of my Samoan roots.”
Asked what message he would tell the young people of Samoa, he said: “Anything is possible with Jesus in your life.
“Find the gift or gifts God has given you and shine his light all over the world. There is always a way with God in your life even when there isn’t a way.”
The 41-year-old and his family are having an enjoyable time in Samoa and will be visiting the big island of Savaii before they fly back home on 9 January.
