Mona Mato, the Export Services Manager, Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) Australia is  leading a buyer mission to Samoa next week. 

The P.T.I. Australia-led delegation will visit exporters in Apia including the Samoan Coconut Cluster, Vaoala Vanilla, Samoa Tradition Exports and fashion designer labels Eveni, Mena’s & Cecilia’s Fashion House.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase Samoa’s fantastic exports and provide our buyers the opportunity to understand where the products are sourced and also to facilitate a direct relationship with Samoan exporters,” said Mona Mato, Manager Export Services, PTI Australia. 

Meanwhile, Samoan Talofa (frozen) taro is making a name for itself in Australia. After their first shipment to Sydney late last year, demand for Talofa’s (frozen) taro is on the rise.

Mr Mato will also be visiting with private exporter, Su’a Tanielu Su’a  the man driving the success of the Talofa taro in Australia. P.T.I. Australia has been assisting Su’a in expanding his exporting presence in the Australian market providing support towards the supply of the company’s packaging and print and radio advertising in Australia. Mr Mato is excited to have the opportunity to be in Samoa and see first-hand where the taro is sourced and see a shipment leaving the Samoan

“The Australia market can be hard to enter, I’ve been very impressed in Su’a‘s vision and professionalism. He has a premium taro product and with the ban of fresh Samoan taro to Australia since 1993 Talofa taro is breaking perceptions in Australia and showing frozen Taro is just as good as fresh Taro and the proof is the number of repeat purchases he’s receiving.
