The app is a great idea. It will certainly appeal to the under 40s and certainly the under 30s tourist.
Not so much to the older generation of tourists who are the mainstay of cruise ships. They would be completely confused by how to work an app.
I suspect cruise ship tourists do not have time to go all the way out to a rural village to witness village life.
There are villages in urban Apia but villages are living and working communities and quite a lot of preparation and organisation to select host villages for specific cruise ship dockings.
Given the time constraints for tourists, it is probably easier to simply go straight to the S.T.A cultural village at Ele’ele Fou, which is there exactly for the purpose of showing aspects of village life.
Especially the making of an umu.
