They say love can be found in the strangest of places.

For Aigaeivaale Malietoa Simati Fata and Joseph Erick Faalavaau Liki, the social media platform, Facebook, was where they found love.

After three years of a love-filled relationship, the couple finally tied the knot at Manumailagi garden last week. Aged 24, Aigaeivaale is the only girl in the family and stays at home to take care for her elderly grandmother.

Although tragedy struck just a month ago, when Aigaeivaale’s mother Togia'ioAtua Alofa Simati passed away, the wedding  proceeded because it was something both mother and daughter truly wanted.

"This is what we’ve been waiting for,” Aigaeivaale told the Samoa Observer. “To finally get married and spend our lives together as one; I honour the presence of my mother who was behind all of the preparations of our wedding right from the beginning before she passed away.

"If only she was here, me and Joes wedding would be even more special. We had been through a lot with Joe but we managed to get through all those challenges of life."

On the other hand, the groom who is aged 28 and is a teacher at Aana College, he is simply just thrilled that he finally made Aigaeivaale his one and only forever.

"I’m forever grateful that this woman is officially called my wedded wife,” he said.

"My dream to be with her has become a reality that I will always cherish. Three years was a tough journey before the marriage but it’s another step forward to another level and I hope we will be fine with what’s to come in the near future.

“On behalf of me and my wife, I just want to say thank you to all our family and friends especially our parents for all the support given and the love they have shown us on our wedding day."
