Cabinet to name M.N.R.E chief next week
Cabinet is set to announce a Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment next week.
Unconfirmed reports say Cabinet is likely to name a new man at the helm of the Ministry.
Among the names being floated around is that of Ulu Bismark Crawley, who was recently the Technical advisor for the Adaptation Fund Project. His contact for this project expired in February 2017.
It was not possible to get a comment from Ulu yesterday.
The Office of the Press Secretariat would not confirm the reports.
It said an official announcement from Cabinet is yet to be made about the vacant M.N.R.E role – or any other new appointment.
In the meantime, the Ministry remains under the watch of Suluimalo Amataga Penaia who has held the job since 2014.
Suluimalo, who was an Assistant C.E.O prior, took over when the then C.E.O Taulealeausumai Laavasa Malua passed away.
Ulu Bismarck was a candidate for Faleata West during last year’s General Election.
