Samoa Events’ resident photographer Scottie Taylor is back again.

He has been a regular visitor to Samoa since 2013 when travelled here to work with Samoa Events in the Warrior Race.

Chances are you will have seen one of his images in the Samoa Observer and online, of overseas competitors swimming, biking and running.

He is one of the best marketers for Samoa overseas. Thousands of athletes from around the world have seen his images too of beautiful Samoa.

Taylor knows all about vision.

His core business based in Auckland is brand strategy and content for products, services, events and athletes.

He works with many elite athletes in triathlon, swimming and running. He helps them create a brand around. He teaches athletes how to create a brand around their talent and how to market themselves in the big commercial world.

Taylor was here only four weeks ago for the 2017 Warrior Race, Pacific Open Water Challenge and Samoa Swim Series.

This time, he is shooting the 4th Ford Tour of Samoa this week. He hasn’t missed one yet. He was here at the start of this exciting event when the race had one overseas rider. There are 42 riders on this year’s Tour.

Samoa is a clarity of vision for a creator like Taylor. The light is perfect and colours brilliant for amazing photographs.

He loves seeing people pushing themselves and achieving great adventures. Taylor has seen a lot of success from a lot of hard work not only from elite athletes, and also from everyday situations where adults want to set and achieve life goals.

“The trend is people don’t want to go on holiday and spend all day on the beach. They want to be active, and relax at the same time.”

“It’s about pushing boundaries every time and that is the way

For him, the many events he covers with Samoa Events are different every year. Taylor’s work with top line athletes goes well with his choice to be around healthy and fit people.

“The trend is people don’t want to go on a holiday and lie on a beach. It’s about pushing boundaries in life.”

Taylor said Samoa as a destination is culturally different. It is challenging for the athletes because of the heat.

The most important aspect for him is the landscape – land and sea – it is stunning.

“People are after a challenge. Samoa Events races fit that in a nutshell. That is why I love coming here.”

Taylor’s visits this year was assisted by Samoa Tourism Authority.
