'TRUE SAMOAN PATRIOT': (L-R); Prime Minister Tuilaepa, Faalogo Situtuila Sissy Vuki, Samoa Cancer Society President - Lauaki Jason Annandale and Society’s Chief Executive Shelley Burich.

Fa’alogo  Situtuila Te'o-Tuatagaloa Vuki and husband Tupuola Sione Vuki have done it again.

They  started the recent ‘Shave, Save or Dye It’ fund raising drive by the Samoa Cancer Society as the first public donation of $1,000 to support the family of the late Manamea Apelu Schwalger.

And may be the last to close the drive this year to raise dearly needed funds to help cancer patients.

As promised, Fa’alogo on Monday presented $2,500 more to the Cancer Society with the blessings from Prime Minister Tuilaepa Dr. Sa’ilele Malielegaoi.

“Sissy is a true Samoan patriot,” said Prime Minister Tuilaepa. “She is one of the Samoan elites who has found success overseas and sharing her good fortune to help her fellow men and women."

“Sissy’s work to continue the legacy of her late father Faalogo of Falealii speaks volume. I wish her well with her endeavours.”

Faalogo has a telling story behind her passion to support the Samoa Cancer Society. And it’s to reaffirm her respect to Prime Minister Tuilaepa.

She writes:

“Monday was a busy day filled with many meetings however when it came to my late afternoon meeting with Samoa Cancer Society and PM Tuilaepa my heart was touched by these devoted volunteers and for their time and little resources available to them to help others become educated and informed about Cancer Awareness.

Yet with a smile and positive attitude they persist forward to help anyone affected with Cancer with what they have.

Time stood still for me as we conversed and I listened to how they are trying to help those living in Samoa with little resources available deal with cancer.

I am very blessed to have abundant resources where we live in Utah and in the USA. Thank you PM Tuilaepa for always making time for anyone including me, your leadership and hard work are recognized and God has blessed Samoa in developing progress in growth slowly but surely.

Prayers for Samoa to be self-reliant and sufficient one day. God bless anyone and any families affected by cancer. Know you are not alone and loved.

Also our gratitude for Nanai Laveitiga Tuiletufuga who shared with us my husband Tupuola Sione and Sissy Vuki about his niece Manamea Schwalger battle with Cancer and what they are trying to do with Samoa Cancer Society to bring more Awareness to the public.

Also we dedicate this Donation and Thank you to my father and mother in-law (Sione Fifita Vuki and Salote Kalilea Pale-Vuki may you both RIL & RIP) for all the great works done in our families and lost their battle to cancer. We miss and love you dearly.

Thank you to my husband Tupuola Sione Heleti Vuki for your faith, support, love 💖, dedication and service in helping others, like Samoa Cancer Society.”

The couple are also continuing their community outreach through the Fire Emergency Services Authority (F.E.S.A.) by funding student scholarship for the children of F.E.S.A. and Police staff.

Earlier this year, Mr. and Mrs. Vuki presented $15,000 to F.E.S.A. to upgrade the 911 Call Centre for Emergencies.
