Cyclone Gita has forced the Executive of the Marist Sports Club to make a number of changes to the Marist Sports Week programme.

The announcement was made by the President of the Club, Faimalomatumua Mathew Lemisio, following an Executive Meeting today.

The biggest change perhaps is the relocation of the 30th International Marist Sevens tournament from Apia Park to the Marist Stadium at Lotopa.

The Apia Park was one of the worst hit areas – and it continues to flood – when Cyclone Gita devastated the country on Friday night and early Saturday morning.

The change of venue has also seen the change of ticket prizes in a bid to help members of the public struggling with finances as they try to rebuild their lives.

Tickets will now cost $2 for general admission and $10 for grandstands for Friday and Saturday, this week.

The much-anticipated School of Origin Golf tournament has been postponed until Saturday 24 February at the Faleata Golf Course.

The Fight for Marist, is still scheduled for Wednesday this week.

The Touch rugby tournament will kick off on Tuesday with the finals on Wednesday.

The only competition which has started already is netball. The finals have now been moved to Tuesday.

The rugby league tournament will also take place on Tuesday at the Pesega Sports Ground.
