The descendants of Malolo Funeai of Vaisala and Pitolua Sao Faamaufeausi of Aeauli Sapapali’i gathered in Samoa at the beginning of the month for their reunion.

Malolo and Pitolua have 10 children, 90 grand children, 315 great grand children and 170 great, great grand children.

Reverend Kerisimasi from the Vaisala Congregational Christian Church of Samoa led the church service to start the reunion.

Fun games and other family activities were part of the programme.

“The whole idea of this reunion is for our family to reunite and get to know each family member,” said Anzac Leah Ve’e.

“Over the years we just live in different villages but this is the only time that we will get to spend time together as a whole family.”

Families from Australia, New Zealand and American Samoa attended the reunion. The next reunion is scheduled for 2022.
