The caretaker Cabinet is expected to announce two key positions in the legal fraternity soon.

One is the Attorney General, replacing former A.G, Aumua Ming Leung Wai, and the other will be the first head of the National Prosecution Office.

Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, hinted that a decision is likely to be made this week.

Pressed on details about the applicants for the Attorney General’s position, Tuilaepa was hesitant.

“Only when it’s with Cabinet (the report) then we can make a decision and give an answer on such questions,” he said.

The A.G’s position remains vacant after Aumua did not reapply for his position when his contract was up.

Assistant A.G, Muriel Lui, is heading the office at the moment.

However, Precious Chang is in charge at the Prosecution Office, pending the appointment of a new Director.
