Are Miss Samoa contests still relevant?
It doesn’t even show off our country to the world at all. The Miss Samoa only participates in a Miss South Pacific pageant - a regional pageant. That is it.
This argument would have more legs if the Miss Samoa winner contested the global pageants that the last Miss Samoa got in a bit of trouble over (the girl from New Zealand).
Actually, if the winner did go and contest the Miss World or Miss Universe or whatever they call it, then it would actually serve some useful purpose by promoting Samoa to a worldwide audience for our tourism industry.
