Re: Simple life, beautiful people
The true image of ones beautiful country is portrayed by independent reviewers such as these two tourists as well as many, many others before them.
People like English poetic Rupert Brooke who wrote that great letter to his friend in England and talked about the “sheer beauty” of Samoa “it is so pure that it is difficult to breathe it in”.
“The loveliest people in the world, moving and dancing like gods and goddesses, very quietly and mysteriously, in utter content”.
That so, is a perceived tenet of the public persona of my dear country from a foreigner, it is an elaborate sweet of the sweetest for my eyes to read their assumption of the impeccable that they have come in and experienced personally.
The essence of good governance from our politicians and of course the accolades to our everyday people for being so great hosts; their happiness and suave manners surely an iconic of our dear Samoa culture.
Brings back the great memory of my late dear mother who once upon a time educated me to say good things about others or shut da heck up if I don’t. That’s why I always concoct flamboyant metaphors to praise the bad spirits as the “sporadic gutless faceless homo ghosts”. Amen! I said.
