Work together urges Minister

“From the C.E.O. to the security guard to the driver, you are all important and your one purpose is to serve our country.”

 The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour welcomed their new Minister who is also the Minister of Public Enterprises, Lautafi Fio Selafi in an ava ceremony on Friday.  M.C.I.L. Chief Executive Officer, Peseta Margaret Malua said the Ministry was looking forward to working with Lautafi.  In his speech of thanks, Lautafi said his role and the development of Samoa depends on the Ministry and its staff. 

He encouraged the public servants to work hard and not to underestimate their worth.

“Whether you are the security guard or whatever work you do – your line of work is important,” said the Minister. 

“From the C.E.O. to the security guard to the driver, you are all important and your one purpose is to serve our country.”

Lautafi compared the work of the Ministry to a car engine that requires all its parts to be working in order for it to run. 

He said even one loose part can cause problems to the car.  A luncheon followed after the ava ceremony.
