Desperately seeking a job

Businesses need to see the potential in people.

Sure, some of the people may not have the qualifications for the job but they may have the drive and interest to learn the required skills quickly.

This is what Asolupe Ropeti of Fusi Safata and Matafele believes.

The 28 year old said, finding a job is never an easy thing nowadays especially for people like him.

“As you can see, this is what I do to at least earn some money for the week he said in reference to working on the plantation.

“To be honest, this is the only job that fits those of us who didn’t finish our education.

“Don’t expect to be sitting in an office

“Either you work in a plantation or else fix the road because this is how you’ll end up.

“I am not condemning the idea that schooling is not important but those who do not have strong educational backgrounds still have the ability to strive to become a strong right hand for their families.

“To me personally, I may not have had a strong education, but I have lived long enough to know how to help out with my family’s obligations.

“But I don’t want to continue to care for my family from working the land.  Therefore Asolupe is looking for a job.

“There are 10 people in my family and none of us work in a paid job.

“We live off of the plantation. Sometimes I get to work around with whoever needs my help to at least earn money.

“While doing these sorts of things I pray I will get a job soon.

“I know I may not qualified because I stopped going to school while I was only 18 years old, but trust me, I can do anything at anytime, anywhere.

“I can even work overtime day by day if that’s what it takes to earn money for my family.

“I can do anything around the house, cleaning, farm work  and other chores.

“I‘m not like others who take their chances for granted.

“If I do get a job, I will do the best to work for them, but to be the best you have to work hard.

“That means taking that chance as if it’s like a chance from heaven.

“I promise whoever offers me a job, that their investment they make in someone like me will be well worth it.

“You are taking on a  person who will have loyalty to your company and on top of that, someone grateful for the opportunity to provide for my family.”
