The ANZ Bank has donated a vehicle to the Samoa Cancer Society to assist with patient home visits, outreaches and their operational work throughout the country.
ANZ Samoa Country Head, Bernie Poort, presented the vehicle to the Chief Executive Officer of the Samoa Cancer Society, Shelley Burich, yesterday.
“We are delighted to provide this vehicle to support the Samoa Cancer Society’s ongoing efforts, and of course we had to paint it bright pink to further help with the cancer awareness throughout the year,” Mr. Poort said.
Mr. Poort also thanked corporate partners who collaborated to make the initiative a reality, including Hyundai motors for the pink paint work, Signs Studio for the signage and branding, Pacific Insurance (N.P.I.) for the ongoing comprehensive car insurance, and Auto saver for committing to ongoing vehicle maintenance.
Mrs. Burich said the Samoa Cancer Society is extremely grateful for the continued support and assistance that ANZ has provided for over five years.
“Being able to have a vehicle at our disposal will make us more efficient and effective with our patient support and operational work getting us from point A to point B.
“We look forward to strengthening and continuing our relationship with ANZ Samoa and also thank the other corporate partners Hyundai, N.P.I, Auto saver and Sign Studio for coming on board with this initiative too."
“We will take pleasure in promoting your contribution throughout the country with our patient home visits and outreach programme that will be done using this vehicle.”
ANZ Samoa has been a regular corporate advocate for cancer awareness in Samoa over the years, including through financial donations to the Samoa Cancer Society and regular fundraising and awareness activities in the community spearheaded by staff.
