BETWEEN THE LINES

Think global act local

Hats off to the Prime Minister for joining his Pacific colleagues in alerting world leaders to the effects of climate change in the Pacific. But it is time for Samoa to think globally and act locally so can the Government advise if there will be subsidies for businesses and individuals who want to use alternative electricity sources to light up their homes?

Old trucks crackdown

And what about a crackdown on old vehicles that continue to be a sore-eye on our roads in Apia? Seeing old trucks on the road belching black smoke out of their exhaust pipes will only adds to Samoa’s emission levels. Maybe enacting legislation to force vehicle owners to get their engines fixed could be the way to go.
