Don Opeloge finished sixth overall in the 96 kg Men's category at the International Weightlifting Federation World Cup in Tianjin, China.

He missed his first two efforts at lifting 155 kg in the snatch, losing the bar back over his head before he could rise up with it.

But Opeloge made the lift on his third attempt to stay alive in the competition in sixth place of the seven competitors.

The clean and jerk went a little more according to plan, with the 20-year-old making his first lift of 195 kg.

Opeloge missed his second attempt, but made a lift of 202 kg with his final effort, good for fourth place in the clean and jerk.

The 357 kg total is four kilograms short of the Samoan's personal best, but was still enough to earn him a sixth place finish overall.

The 96kg Men's category was won by world-number-one Tao Tian of China who lifted 175 kg in the snatch and 225 kg in the clean and jerk for a 400 kg total.

In second place was Chen Po-Jen of Chinese Taipei, who lifted 175 kg in the snatch and 200 kg in the clean and jerk for a 375 kg total.

Korea's Jang Yeonhak of Korea won bronze with lifts of 165 kg in the snatch and 204 kg in the clean and jerk for a 369 kg total.
