Team Samoa Boxing claimed two gold medals, two silver and one Bronze medal as the Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu concluded earlier this week.

According to a statement from the Samoa Amateur Boxing Association (S.A.B.A.), five boxers travelled for the Mini Games and all five came home with medals.

Last Friday night was the finals of the Games.

The first Samoa Gold medal game from their 60kg representative Nu’uuli Mose defeating Vanuatu’s, Johnny Silas.

The next Gold medal came from a knock-out win by Samoa 81kg Henry Tyrell against Tore Juberly of Tahiti during the finals of the 81kg weight class.

Samoa’s silver medals came from Ropati Hall and John Peneueta during their weight class’s finals on Friday night.

Ropati Hall was defeated by Lui Siva of Vanuatu during the 75kg weight class finals, while John Peneueta of Samoa was defeated by Heimatta Neuffer of Tahiti during the 91kg weight class final.

Samoa’s Bronze medal came from Fa’amanu Aukuso representing Samoa in the 91kg+ weight class after losing to a boxer from Tahiti during his weight class semi-finals.

Team Samoa Boxers are scheduled to arrive in the country tomorrow (Monday) afternoon after a great success story from the Pacific Mini Games this year in Vanuatu.
