Federal Pacific Insurance (F.P.I.) has thrown its support behind the defending champions and leader of the Super 9 Competition, Taula Eels Rugby Franchise, with a donation of $5000 to assist its current campaign.

Taula Eels President, Fata Pito Malifa, was very grateful for the kind gesture from Federal Pacific.

He said this is not the first time that F.P.I. had assisted and supported the Union.

“I want to thank Namulauulu for again helping us,” he said.

“It’s not cheap to run a team in the Super 9 competition so every dollar that is donated counts. I pray that God will continue to bless your company and would like to have our partnership continue towards the future.”

General Manager of F.P.I., Namulauulu Sami Leota, said the company’s hope is for the money to help develop local talents.

“I am a strong believer in the local talents and this competition is one of the best moves by the S.R.U. to develop and identify the local talents,” he said.

“Nothing makes me happier than seeing local boys make it to our representative teams especially the Sevens and the Manu Samoa 15s. These opportunities in turn will allow them to secure bigger contracts / income which will enable them to help their families.”

He added: “This is second year of the Super 9 and I am very impressed with the organisation by the S.R.U. team and the support by the community towards it.

Why the Eels?

“Obviously I played all my rugby there for Vaimoso and SCOPA and most of my mates are now running the Union, so naturally I will support it.”
