Netball Samoa in partnership with “Anchor – Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds” which initiated a Secondary School Netball Competition held every Saturday morning for the past six weeks, draws to a close this Saturday.

The initiative was to replace the cancellation of the Annual Secondary School Netball Competition and SMOKEFREE Netball Champs of Champs.  It is unfortunate due to school administration challenges, that netball and other sporting codes, were withdrawn from the school Calendar of Events.

Secondary Schools which participated in this competition were Aleipata Secondary School, Maluafou College, Paul IV College, Pesega College, Robert Louis Stevenson College, Sagaga College and St Mary’s College.

The majority of the players who took part in this competition attended the Netball Samoa Development Academy and it was promising to witness the improvement of their netball skills.

Aleipata Secondary School launched their new netball uniform (pictured below) during the competition and some of the players have progressed to play in the National Netball League.

Netball Samoa acknowledges the sponsorship of “Anchor” promoting “Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds“and thanks the teachers and coaches of the participating schools for their time and support to development of netball with the participation of their teams.

Special thanks to the teams from the rural areas – Aleipata Secondary School, Paul IV and Sagaga College.

This Saturday is the finals of the Round Robin Competition, Gymnasium 3 Tuana’imato.
