A Good Samaritan who wishes not to be named, has stepped up and donated food items and groceries worth $500 for Tala Lealali and her family.

Tala Lealali was featured in yesterday’s Village Voice story  titled, ‘The Struggle of Poverty’.

Mrs. Lealali was badly in need of assistance for food and money.

Mrs. Lealali is a mother of two with her eldest son being the sole provider for the family. Her young daughter is still in Primary School and she is currently living together with and supporting her 77 year old father.

“There are four people in our family. My father, my two kids and me

“My son has a job and that’s the only way we get money. He is a bus driver’s assistant on one of the Pasi o Va’a buses.

“He usually earns $80 or $90 per week and that’s the only money we survive on to pay for our electricity, food as well as medical checkups for my dad,” she said.

This story touched the anonymous donor’s heart and he stepped in to help this family in Satui.

“This family deserves this,” he said. “It is not that much but I wanted to assist them in terms of food for now.”

When presented with the items,  Tala Lealali and her father were in tears and very thankful for the assistance.

“We thank whoever donated this for our family. Thank you so much for all of this.

“Thank you for your love.

“We are grateful for everything you have given.”
