Prayers offered for Samoa
A one-week prayer conference organized by a group called ‘One in Christ’ kicked off at Faleata Gym 1 on Sunday night. The conference is featuring a number of guest speakers including Apostle Viliamu Mafo’e, Pastor Joe Amosa, Pastor Livigisitone Toelupe and other local Pentecostal preachers.
This is the second year of the event, born from a vision of the Founder of the Fa’amatala Le Upu Ministries, Rev. Tafa Fa’amatala.
“This is a call to pray in the Spirit for Samoa,” said Rev. Faamatala.
“It is a call to stand together and pray for our nation, and it’s a huge calling – I believe that there’s always a need for the Body of Christ to come together and pray for our country."
Chairman of the ‘One in Christ’ Apostle Viliamu Mafo'e reminded that prayers play a big role in seeking God for His healing and blessing for Samoa.
Pastor Tulua Peti agreed.
“There is power in prayer, as stated in Acts 10, ‘a man stood before me in shining garments and he said, Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God'.
“God can easily take away those with pride, an unforgiving heart… remember, Cornelius brought up his family in God’s way – Samoa! lead your family to God. Through Christ and fear of God, Cornelius' prayers and aims were accepted."
Associate Minister, Faumuina Tiatia Liuga, spoke on the behalf of the government.
The one week conference is based on the biblical scripture of John 13:35, “By this, people will know that you are my disciples when you love one another.”
The morning sessions are at 10am and evening sessions at 7pm throughout this week until Friday at Faleata Gym 1.
