Heather Perry, a Health Promoter from Whanganui, New Zealand, is visiting the country to escape the cold weather.

She is staying at the Sheraton Aggie Grey’s Hotel.

“This is my second time in Samoa,” she told our reporter.

“The last time I came here, I visited Savaii, and I enjoyed swimming with the turtles.

“Now I am here with my family for a holiday and today is our first day so we are just touring around Apia and experiencing the beautiful sunshine because at the moment it’s winter back home.”

As to how Samoa could improve so that more tourists will come and visit, Ms. Perry said there needs to be more online information about Samoa.

“There is not enough information about Samoa that tells us about the island,” she said.

“Tourists need to know like accommodation information, where it is, what to expect when they come to Samoa, the currency, the cost of things and so much more.

“Nowadays everything is about technology and that is how Samoa can be improved by providing information that will draw a tourist’s attention to want to come and visit.

“I think that’s how this beautiful island can improve but other than that I love Samoa; it’s a beautiful country and the people are just so lovely.

“They are always ready to lend a hand when in need and we don’t get that back home. But here, we don’t have to worry if we get lost or want directions to go somewhere because the people are always there to help. We just have to ask.”
