The Fa'atuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi [F.A.S.T.] party is once again seeking financial donations from their supporters for legal fees connected to their election petitions.

F.A.S.T. has been sending out letters to the different constituencies in the country and our local community as well as their supporters overseas, and a copy was obtained by this newspaper.

The party Treasurer, Leatinu'u Wayne So'oialo confirmed the circulation of the letters saying it's not something they are trying to hide.

"The letters have been sent out, so it's no secret," he told the Samoa Observer.

"It's not something that we trying to hide from the country, no! We humbly seek assistance to help us with our fight through our court cases.

"We don't have much and we depend on our supporters to assist us financially so we can carry on with our plans. That letter is a straightforward letter and we need not hide behind the shadow of the tree but to seek assistance to help us fight for the truth."

Moreover, Leatinu'u said they have already have the support of the 51 constituencies who advised them to write a formal letter to each constituency.

"We have already discussed the issue with all the 51 constituencies, and it was their idea for us to write a formal letter so we can make it official and to include all the details [Bank details] to make it easier for them to process everything.

"Everything is there in that letter like I said, it's very straightforward. If you also want to donate, you have the details there with you.

"And for those who have received a copy of the letter, you have the details there and if you also feel like donating, we'd appreciate that."

Nevertheless, Leatinu'u moved to put to bed rumors of them "over-spending" money particularly the $1.6million they collected in March this year.

"I don't know anything about the rumors, but what I do know is there are ambitious people out there with the hope to defame the good name of our party by making those things up.

"We have the support of our F.A.S.T. family near and far, we have so many friends and families who are loyal to us and are with us always, and those are the ones that matter to us.

"There are always those who are trying so hard to bring us down so we will not be bothered by those rumors."

Leatinu'u said the 51 constituencies in the country have agreed that they will each make a contribution of a minimum of $2,000 tala to the party to help them pay their legal team.

In March this year, the party hosted a a Radiothon and collected a total of $1.6million tala.

This newspaper understands that F.A.S.T. has filed 10 cases thus far with 13 cases filed against them following the results of April's election.
