A true partnership approach

TAKE NOTE: After many months of planning, design and logistics, a group of people committed to keeping the environment clean have finally installed the signs at the entrance to Mt. Vaea. Pictured at the sign is Christine Tuioti.

“The signs are an awareness tool about the impact of plastics and trash thrown by those who frequent the mountain and gardens.”

“We hope that knowing the long term impacts will lead people to dispose of their rubbish in the bins provided or take it back home with them. We feel that it is the responsibility of every citizen to make sure we keep Mt. Vaea clean. Bring a reusable drink bottle and avoid using disposable plastic bottles.”

The project was a collaborative effort between Samoa Conservation Society, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (M.N.R.E.), C.I. Samoa, S.P.R.E.P. and J.A.F.F.A.S. Sanitary System and management. A true partnership approach.
